Just wanted to share with my friends here...

Mike and I are happily expecting...

And I couldn't be more thrilled! Finding a younger man who wants kids? I can't believe it is really happening! And it's all thanks to all of you. If not for my wonderful online friends here at Tempt the Cougar, I would never have taken the leap into my beautiful man's arms. Howard never wanted kids. I did. I was shocked when Mike told me he wanted them as much as I do, and I was worried that I was too old to have them.

I am thrilled to announce that our baby will be born in a little less than two months...and my dear friend Fran Lee will be his godmother. (Yep...the ultrasounds say he is a bouncing baby boy!) I would have preferred a daughter, but Mike is so excited about a boy he can barely walk straight. I just hope the kid doesn't get spoiled rotten in the first year of life.

Mike already has a colt picked out for him, has bought a kid's saddle, and is planning which college the poor kid is going to. Sigh. And here I was hoping that I could buy our daughter her first prom dress and high heels when the time came. Guess we'll have to try again. LOL. Maybe I'll get my girl!

Love to all of you!

  1. Congratulations Lee and Mike! You two hold a special place in my heart. Nothing wrong with trying again...that's the fun part anyway.

Don't want to miss out on our regular Sunday Japanese feast...even if the food often tumbles right off my belly when junior starts kicking...LOL!

  8. Well...just a note to let you all know that little Michael Lee Running Elk now weighs in at a sturdy 18 pounds of powerful kicks, loud shrills, and happily grinning boy. Mike couldn't be prouder, and his mommy? Well, let's just say she lets me hold the kid SOMETIMES. What a stingy female! Mike is on hands and knees on the living room rug right now, playing bucking bronc as mommy holds her little buckaroo on Daddy's back. Little Mike is shrieking with baby laughs and wants to grab daddy's hair like reins, but that's a no-no since the kid has the grip of the Incredible Hulk(R)! Daddy likes his hair right where it is, thank you very much.

    More later.

  9. Fran is such a tease...she has been trying to get this kid in her arms and packed into her suitcase for the trip back to Utah, but I'm not TOTALLY stupid. No way is she getting him outta here!

In case any of you missed my post in March over at my blog, I uploaded a photo that Mike took in the hospital. No more photos, folks. Mike is all paranoid about showing photos of beautiful babies on the Internet. He says people will want to steal him. Of course, they would have to get past one mean big Lakota and one very possessive and protective wasichu mommy...not to mention a couple of ornery grandmas and one sneaky still-trying-to-stuff-my-kid-in-her-suitcase god mom. Thanks, everyone!
